Our Story

Welcome to Santas Little Painters, where magic meets artistry in every personalised Christmas bauble! We are proud to be the original bauble operators in shopping centres, bringing festive cheer to families for over three decades. My journey began as a curious, dreamy child, always preferring to paint and colour rather than tackle math problems. This artistic spirit blossomed throughout my youth, and after leaving school, I quickly realised that the corporate world wasn't my calling. Instead, I longed to reconnect with my creative roots and bring joy through my art.

In a serendipitous dream one night, I was inspired to start pop-up stores in shopping centres, personalising Christmas baubles. That was in 1992, and since then, we've grown into a household name, hand-painting nearly every bauble on every tree in the Sutherland Shire! Every single bauble is lovingly crafted by me, Rosie Shalhoub, and my unique 3D paint and signature calligraphy style are unmatched in the industry.

When I first met my husband, Ross, he introduced me to his sister, who proudly showcased my baubles on her Christmas tree, something I had done for her many years before meeting Ross —an affirmation of the joy my creations bring. Over the years, I've remained committed to not only my craft but also to giving back. Through my other successful venture, Embrace Crystals, I combine my love for Christmas and charity, crafting special baubles for sick kids and those in need during the holiday season.

Santas Little Painters has transformed into an international business, but my designs remain uniquely my own. While many have tried to imitate us, they can never replicate the heart, expertise, or customer service that our family-run operation provides. If you spot my designs elsewhere, you'll know they've been lovingly copied!

At home in Sydney, I cherish every moment with my husband, Ross, our twins, Joey and Ellie, and my four stepchildren, Paris, Dion, Tiara, and Jamaris. A fun fact about me: amidst the whirlwind of the holiday season, I’m so busy crafting magic for others that I often don’t have the time to decorate my own tree or make baubles for my family!
